Sr. Researcher / Researcher, Inorganic Analytics


to join our Research Analytics group in Neste for a fixed-term position during 1.9.2023 - 31.3.2025. The position is located in Neste Technology Centre, Kilpilahti (Porvoo), only some 30 minutes away from Helsinki city center. Partial remote work is also possible.


Neste Innovation function’s Research & Development drives renewal in the industry. Research Analytics group is a part of this pioneering work and responsible for the analytics supporting R&D projects, product development and production. Your role in creating a sustainable future


In your position, you will be responsible for the elemental analyses and the analytical method development for various sample matrices e.g., products, process samples and renewable waste and residue feedstocks with a team of experts. You will work closely in cross-functional projects with other researchers and experts from R&D and production. You will also participate in the development of our research laboratory by the analyzer and the equipment investments.

The best combination to succeed in this role


  • At least Master’s degree in inorganic or analytical chemistry (or other similar relevant)
  • Solid experience in inorganic chemistry and inorganic analysis techniques (e.g. CIC, coulometer, ICP, CHN, IC, titrations)
  • Solid knowledge and experience in research
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Proactivity and can-do attitude
  • Fluent English

Other strengths we value


  • Doctorate degree in inorganic or analytical chemistry, chemical engineering (or other similar relevant)
  • Teaching experience on chemistry in academia
  • Broad knowledge in different analytical methods
  • Experience in method development and validation
  • Knowledge in project work
