Communications Officer
CMI - Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is an independent Finnish organisation that works to prevent and resolve conflicts through dialogue and mediation. Founded in 2000 by Nobel Peace Laureate and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari, we have since grown to be a leader in the field of international peacemaking.
Do you want to contribute to consolidating our global profile as a professional, international and trusted partner for peace? CMI is now looking for a Communications Officer to join its Communications team.
The Communications Officer will be responsible for:
Planning and managing CMI's global communications in social media.
Producing content for global communications in collaboration with CMI's teams and projects. This includes writing articles, organizing webinars, editing publications and making newsletters.
Supporting planning, monitoring and reporting of communications activities.
Supporting budget management and financial reporting in the team.
Acting as travel arranger for the team.
A successful candidate is expected to:
Have relevant skills and at least three years of practical experience from communications.
Proven expertise in social media outreach in common platforms (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn) as well as good knowledge of publishing platforms, such as WordPress.
Be familiar with social media advertising and website analytics.
Have strong writing skills.
Have fluent written and spoken skills in English and in Finnish.
Have a problem-solving, can-do attitude combined with good co-operative skills.
Be prepared to travel occasionally.
Have a Master's degree in a relevant field.
Preferably have previous work experience in, and a knowledge of, international relations and peace mediation.
Commit to CMI values and principles of neutrality.
The position is a fixed-term contract until the end of 2024 (with possibility of extension), and located at CMI headquarters in Helsinki. Communications Officer will report to CMI's Head of Communications. The starting date will be by agreement, preferably in October 2023.
